About Virgil G. Dwyer Jr., DMin.

Virgil holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forrest, NC. with a specialization in Christian Leadership, a Master of Divinity in Leadership, and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, Va. Virgil is a 2016 Alum of the Tar Heel Leadership Network. He serves as a consultant for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina providing expertise in church facilities as they relate to discipleship efforts and currently served on the Board of Directors for the Baptist State Convenion of North Carolina. Virgil is a retired veteran of the United States Army serving in various leadership roles throughout his 22-year career to include numerous deployments to Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan and other regions of the world. During his military service Virgil earned the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Action Badge, and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge. Virgil is Ranger, Airborne, and Pathfinder qualified. Virgil is married to Shannon Marie and together they have four children and one grandchild.
