5 Ways to Effectively Lead Yourself & Others
Number One: Self-management. You have to manage yourself first. You have to lead yourself first before you can lead or manage others.
Number Two: Confidence. Have confidence in what you say and do. People cannot follow a leader that does not display confidence in their actions and have competence in what they say and do.
Number Three: Influence. Once you are able to lead, manage yourself, and do it with confidence, you are now able to influence others in the direction they must go.
Number Four: Lead By Example. Huston Smith said this, “The most powerful moral influence is example.” As a leader within the military, one of our favorite statement that we say is to lead by example. If you want to influence your people, you must be the example.
Number Five: Be a Servant Leader. If you look at all of the great leaders of our time, you will realize one common trend somewhere. They all, in some shape, form, or fashion, were servant leaders.
