I joined the John Maxwell Team in August 2020 because its core values and interests align with mine. We share a calling and a passion for building people up through speaking, teaching, and training on personal and professional development. Over the next three years, I plan to utilize the vast resources of the team for my own growth while also exposing my employees to the Maxwell resources. In 2023, I launched my business, Knight Leadership and Professional Development, LLC, while simultaneously working full time. As the Chief Executive Officer, I offer the following services: Speaking, Teaching, Leadership Training, Personal & Professional Development Training, Communication Training, Maxwell DISC Training, and Executive Coaching. My life and leadership experience have positioned me to readily provide you with these services.

In my former career in Law Enforcement - Corrections in the Federal Sector, I frequently created and hosted Leadership Training for my direct reports while managing and providing oversight to Executive staff at Federal Correctional Facilities. I believe in the concepts of leadership taught by John C. Maxwell, and I had great success introducing my staff to and implementing the practical and action-oriented leadership steps used in the Leadership Training Courses, Workshops, and Seminars I offered during my Leadership Programs. I enjoyed working in the field of corrections for nearly three decades. I worked in the Florida Department of Corrections for five years. I served as the Senior Deputy Regional Director for the Northeast Region for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. In that role, I oversaw 18 federal correctional facilities and 4 community corrections sites, as well as a team of 6800 employees. I was responsible for managing a budget of nearly $800 million. Throughout my 30-year career in the field, I have held senior leadership positions and was directly responsible for overseeing staff for nearly two decades.

In 2022, I was appointed to the Senior Executive Services (SES) and held the positions of Warden/CEO. Over the course of my 24-year career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons I held several positions of increased responsibility. Throughout my career, I relocated multiple times to assume positions of greater responsibility in accordance with agency customs.

I was honored to be one of forty of the highest-ranking officials in a workforce of over 35,000 employees across the country under the Department of Justice. I was also one of 8,000 government-wide Senior Executive Services members. For more than three years, I had the privilege of serving as a facilitator and trainer for over three hundred newly hired Wardens/CEOs and Associate Wardens across 122 federal correctional facilities. Additionally, I acted as an informal mentor and coach to hundreds of employees within the agency. I delivered speeches during graduations to newly trained graduates of the Federal Law Enforcement Academy and conducted leadership training and development with my staff. I also witnessed many of my protégés move on to leadership roles.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. I completed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida Muma College. While I have been honored to work in this profession for nearly three decades, spending almost two decades in an executive-level capacity, my leadership path was shaped from an early age. As a young man who overcame significant barriers in my childhood, my formative years laid the foundation for every opportunity I have had in my life and career. Recognizing that my circumstances were atypical rather than the norm, I am driven by the desire to be someone of value who adds value. I firmly believe, as John C. Maxwell eloquently puts it, that "Everything rises and falls on leadership." It has been my great privilege to assist my staff, friends, and family in achieving their goals through speaking engagements, training sessions, teaching, and coaching in the realm of personal growth and professional development.
