Before joining the John Maxwell Team, I served in the United States Air Force for thirty-plus years. After a successful military career, I retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. In my final assignment in Washington, D.C., I served as the Chief of Recruiting Operations, leading recruiting teams in every State and Great Britain. After retiring from the Air Force, I landed a position with the National Guard Bureau serving as a Senior Human Resources manager leading the Recruiting and Compensation Division. In 2007 my wife Dale and I returned to South Carolina to help in the care of our aging parents. During that transition, I accepted the position of Human Resources Director for the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. During my SCDJJ journey, my staff and I help the agency successfully voyage through the economic disaster of the following years. In 2012 after a significant leadership change in the organization, I realized I had reached my leadership lid on this phase of my journey. I retired from the State in 2014 to start my own Leadership business. Today, I coach, train, speak, and facilitate the John Maxwell Leadership Game with audiences worldwide. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Coker College, Certified Public Manager, Distinguished Toastmaster, and many Air Force schools and leadership academies. I built my professional career around the Air Force Core Values of “Integrity first, Service before self and Excellence in all we do.” These core values, combined with my personal use of the John Maxwell tools, have allowed me to enhance my productivity, development, and leadership skills to create a fulfilled and balanced lifestyle. For more than thirty years, I have studied and implemented the philosophies behind personal growth and leadership development for myself and others.
