Over the last 15 years, Yanika has had a wide range of experience in leadership development, talent management, change management, human capital strategy, and recruitment and selection for both private and non-profit organizations. She has helped clients develop their leadership skills, assess their talent strategy, create unbiassed and equitable processes and procedures, assess how they develop and retain highly qualified leaders with a lens toward diversity. Yanika is passionate about professional development and cultivating the absolute best leaders.

Yanika began her career in education serving as the Director of Talent Management for the Fulton County Schools System in Atlanta, Georgia. She implemented a rigorous and inclusive school leader selection process for Fulton County Schools that led to the hiring of over 120 school leaders (principals and assistant principals) over 2 years. She designed and implemented a principal leadership development program specifically to create an official district leadership pipeline process. Yanika also designed and led professional development for Fulton County that dove into key performance competencies and focused on decision making for business processes and teaching practices that are equitable, culturally competent and inclusive of students and the community.

Yanika has significant experience supporting and developing school leaders as a coach for 11 regional Heads of District/School Partners while at Teach For America. She served as a thought partner on district/charter relationships, district strategies, and implementing best practices.

Before moving into education, Yanika spent nine years working in the private sector; five years at Dell Computers in various project management roles and the next four in management consulting specializing in process improvement for clients. Yanika holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a Master’s of Supply Chain Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is also a graduate of the Broad Residency in Urban Education with a Master’s in Education Leadership.
