Prior to joining the Maxwell Leadership Team, I had the privilege of serving this nation in the U.S. Marine Corps. This was followed by a career in law enforcement, where I served in various roles, including investigations, SWAT team leader, hostage negotiator, field training officer (FTO), patrol, and school resource officer (SRO). 

During my five years as our department's first SRO, I coached middle school, high school, and alternative school students. I used several outlets for this, including facilitating our region's only SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) chapter and implementing the SCOPE/Liferide program (Schools and Cops Opting for Positive Education). At that time, I was one of only five nationwide officers certified in this program who went on to implement this program successfully. I was given my office in the high school counseling center and assigned my classroom space with a time slot during school hours. Ultimately, our department aimed to rebuild relationships between law enforcement, students, parents, schools, and the social service agencies regularly serving these families. I found significant and measurable success by empowering, inspiring, and educating students to become powerful influencers in the community on the issues of youth violence, substance abuse, and conflict resolution. I was proud to have coached our students to become Win/Win peer facilitators, who could serve as peer facilitators during conflict resolution sessions between feuding students.

In late 2014, 15 years after leaving law enforcement, I started to step out to do private coaching and consulting. I hosted several seminars and conferences. In March 2016, I took a massive leap into life and leadership coaching. Oh, that moment when you recognize your purpose and the discovery of doing what you were meant to do all along. I had rediscovered coaching. I enjoyed many things about law enforcement, but coaching during my SRO years was what I loved the most. 

I chose to specialize in leadership and mindset coaching. I decided on the mindset niche because all people worldwide, within any demographic, have to contend with their mindsets. Mindsets are inescapable. It is just a matter of whether your mindset effectively and adequately fulfills your purpose, dreams, and goals. All mindsets are identifiable and can be coached if allowed. 

Of all my achievements, I am most proud of and blessed by my wonderful 34-year marriage to my wife, Michelle. We are the proud parents of four fantastic adult children.

My wife and I reside in San Diego, CA. We enjoy many beautiful relationships that have profoundly enriched our lives with people all over the country and worldwide. The bottom line is that we are about connecting through relationships and adding value to people's lives. I love the privilege of empowering, inspiring, encouraging, and equipping people to fulfill their purpose in life, realize their dreams, and even make them come alive where they can dream once again and achieve success in meeting their daily goals.
