I am a single mom living in Nashville, TN. I have 10 years of experience in the counseling field, working with children, teenagers, adults, families, and inmates providing individual, group, and family therapy as well as leading a team of therapists as a Regional Director in four cities and supervising master's level therapists. I am a retired Licensed Professional Counselor and provided licensure supervision for other counselors. I pursued my doctorate and completed all coursework, supervision hours, and comprehensive exams, and am ABD, deciding to become a mom instead of finishing my dissertation. My experience in counseling makes me unique as a coach, as I utilize my counseling skills to help coaching clients dig deeper and ask thought-provoking questions to bring about increased awareness in my clients.
I started working in a direct sales company 26 years ago prior to my daughter being born, so that I could pay off my credit card debt, which I did in my first year of my business, and I have been debt free since. When I became a mom, I decided to stop working in corporate America so I could be home with my daughter, rather than put her in daycare. That's when my direct sales business became my full-time job. As an entrepreneur, I have successfully raised my daughter, who is now in college, and continue to lead a multi-million dollar a year direct sales organization of team members and leaders across the nation. I have earned numerous awards in personal and team sales, personal recruiting, and developing leaders. I was featured on the cover of Empowering Women magazine and in an article sharing my story in 2006. I feel accomplished when I challenge team members to push beyond their limiting beliefs to become successful business owners. I enjoy teaching customers how to create memories of love and laughter around the table through mealtimes.
As a coach, speaker, and trainer with The John Maxwell team, I began my own coaching business in 2018 called Unlock Your Potential after the nudging of one of my previous supervisees who was starting a private counseling practice and asked me to coach her. My experience in successfully running my own business caused this supervisee to seek out my assistance, as she knew I would be able to guide her in areas such as lead generation, marketing, time management, customer service, referrals, and developing systems. As a coach, I enjoy working with entrepreneurs and those in a leadership position, coaching software engineers, residential and commercial real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, financial planners, interior designers, chiropractors, physical therapists, IT owners, software engineers, attorneys, insurance agents/owners, and those in direct sales and multi-level marketing. When facilitating team training or team building events on topics such as leadership, communication, and personal growth, I work to be engaging and bring out the energy in others in the room, making training interactive and thought-provoking. My goal is to move individuals and organizations from where they are to where they want to be.
