My journey to becoming a Maxwell Leadership Certified Coach, Teacher, and Speaker began over twenty-five years ago as a young production supervisor in the food processing industry. I was new to leadership and modeled the very rough styles of leadership I had grown up under. After a very short period, I had lost or fired most of my crew and realized there had to be a better way. Around this time, I read my first John Maxwell book and decided to hold crew meetings to hear the concerns and issues my team was encountering. I took a long list from each meeting and would work on removing the obstacles my team brought up over the next week. These meetings turned out to be incredibly productive while I began my journey into leadership and the process of personal growth. My team consistently improved our shift production output and grew together as a high-performing unit. This was one of my first leadership lessons before I knew there were lessons to be learned.
My journey continued into Human Resources, completing a four-year and then graduate degree, several relocations across the country, and different career pursuits before I concluded that my life purpose was to help others achieve their full potential with the talents God has given them.
In 2011, I came across the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team opportunity, and the timing could have been better. After a great mentor and persistent Maxwell Leadership Certified Team Coordinator stayed in touch, I finally came to the crossroads in my life where if I was going to achieve my life purpose, I had no excuses left but to decide to step into helping others achieve their full potential as individuals and in their careers.
There are so many stories, experiences, and details from my life I could share, but suffice it to say that I am actively pursuing my "why" in life and want to see as many other people come to their full potential as possible before this part of my journey draws to a close.
