As a Maxwell Leadership Certified Coach, Teacher, Trainer and Speaker, I can offer you workshops, seminars, keynote speaking, and coaching, aiding your personal and professional growth through study and practical application of John’s proven leadership methods. Working together, I will move you and/or your team or organization in the desired direction to reach your goals.

Currently the Director, I joined Oakland Adult and Career Education as an Assistant Principal in 2017, following 5 years of service with Contra Costa County Office of Education teaching in correctional facilities and reentry programs, for youth and adults. My career in education began in West Contra Costa County where I worked in Special Education as an Instructional Aide, Special Education Counselor for Middle and High School, and most recently a GED Teacher.

I was born in Oakland, grew up in Richmond and attended school in the Richmond Unified School District. I also attended the East Bay Skills Center in Oakland where I received his GED Certificate before graduating from Contra Costa Community College in San Pablo. I received my undergraduate degree In Telecommunications Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. This specialty area informs my leadership approach, as I view digital literacy for all students and data driven decision making for school leaders as the foundation of academic progress.  I earned his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Golden Gate University in 2009 and my School Administrative Credential from National University in 2017.

I view a collaborative school environment that is inclusive to all, distributed leadership and cultural awareness as the key to creating successful teachers and students. I believe partnerships with community partners, K-12 site partners and the local colleges are essential to enriching the experience at OACE.

During my free time, I enjoy live music, gardening and spending time with family.
