An Independent Certified Coach, Teacher, Trainer and Speaker with Maxwell Leadership Certified Team.

About Allen Scott Tafoya

I am happily married and have one son. I grew up in New Mexico, on the Santa Clara Pueblo Indian reservation. While earning my college degree in Psychology, I responded to God's call to enter the ministry. This has resulted in over 30 years of successful pastoral ministry among my fellow Native American people in several areas of the nation. In addition to leading local congregations, I often help lead statewide efforts among our churches.

Born out of my desire to become a better pastor, I took the opportunity to pursue a Doctor of Ministry degree. As part of completing that degree, I was introduced to professional coaching. In January of 2011, I began a professional coaching practice. I earned my Certified Professional Coach certification through the International Coach Academy. I have also owned and have operated a successful auto glass business for nine years, directed a men's halfway house and a Contextualized Leadership Development center for those in ministry.

I now use my gifts and skills as a coach to listen with discernment, ask powerful questions, engage in creative problem solving, affirm the power people possess to change, and celebrate successful actions. My specialty is helping Indigenous people to discover the truth about their leadership relationships and intentionally experience new levels of success and satisfaction in those relationships.

Through “A Minute with Maxwell,” I learned about the John Maxwell Team, becoming a Founding Partner!  I am grateful and excited to be affiliated and a certified Coach, Trainer and Speaker with the John Maxwell Team.
