I am the Director of ProSkills Pty Ltd, delivering courses throughout Queensland. I have 15 years experience with the Ambulance Service in Queensland as a paramedic and 8 years with Queensland Rail. Alexis, my wife of 32 years and I have been managing our own training organisation since April 2000.
In 2004, I developed the government audit application for ProSkills to become a registered Training Organisation (RTO). ProSkills was approved as a RTO on 12th January 2005.
In my 15 years as a paramedic, and 11 years running my own training business, I have regularly relied on John Maxwell’s books and resources for personal and our business development. I have been involved in training people since 1984. John’s teaching that as an effective leader, you must do more than communicate, you must connect, has been a great principle for me. I have learned that it is not so much what we say or do, it is more important what people understand that you have said, and what they see that you do.
I have come from working as a labourer / worker on sheep / cattle properties, a labourer on the Queensland Railways, to being a paramedic and then business owner / director. A lot of my success is because of the proven leadership principles taught by John Maxwell. I have gone from being a day laborer, an uneducated man to having a Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resource Management and Marketing Management).
